Frequently Asked Questions
When can I go to Lifebridge?
Lifebridge is staffed 24 hours daily, seven days a week.
How much will it cost?
There is no charge for services, including shelter, food, medical, and mental health attention.
What will happen when I get to Lifebridge?
You will speak with a shelter attendant or a shelter supervisor who will ask you questions about yourself. Shelter beds are available on a first come first served basis. We have 24 beds for men and 10 for women. When you become a Mission client, and if you are compliant with rules and regulations, you will have the same bed each night. If you are not compliant you will lose your bed and be subject to other disciplinary action.
What if I have a substance abuse problem?
Lifebridge is a dry shelter. Clients under the influence of alcohol or drugs are banned for three days. Alcohol, drugs, and drug paraphernalia are not permitted anywhere on the Seeds of Hope campus. Violation will bring about immediate disciplinary action and possibly cause criminal charges to be brought. If clients are in recovery from substance abuse we may ask them what tools they are utilizing to maintain their sobriety. If a client relapses, he or she will work together with their case manager to address the relapse immediately.
Do I need to have income?
You are not required to have any source of income to receive services at Lifebridge. However, the amount and source of any income you do have may affect what referrals are available to you as you begin to seek permanent housing. If you do not have any income at the present time and are eligible for benefits, your Lifebridge case manager will refer you to the appropriate agencies for assistance.
How can I get permanent housing?
Your case manager will work to provide you with the resources you need to obtain steady and permanent housing. That is their goal! If you work together with your case manager while you are a client here, you are more likely to qualify for housing--maybe even on campus in our Seeds of Hope Housing.
What other rules do I need to know about?
Upon admittance you will be given a full list of Lifebridge's rules and regulations. It is important to know that:
- Lifebridge is a dry shelter. Clients are expected to maintain sobriety.
- All prescription medications must be given to staff to be dispensed by staff. Clients found with prescription medications on their person may be terminated.
- Verifiable reports of disturbance and/or loitering in the vicinity of the campus will result in strict disciplinary action and likely loss of Mission services.
- Curfew is 8:00 PM unless you have employment obligations or treatment meetings off-site. You may also receive a case manager's permission.
- Average length of stay is 30 days. Within two weeks of admission, each guest is asked to sign an Individual Service Plan which outlines his or her goals and the steps he or she will take to obtain permanet housing.
