The Clothes on Their Backs April 15 6-9 PM
On April 15 from 6-9 PM at the Nathaniel Silsbee House on Salem Common, Lifebridge (formerly The Salem Mission) will join forces with the area’s most fashion-forward retailers on for an inspirational evening and energetic fashion show entitled The Clothes on Their Backs to raise funds and awareness for its transformational work with the homeless. Hosted by Carl Stevens of WBZ Radio with makeup by Rouge Cosmetics and drawing clothing from numerous area retailers—including J. Mode, Image Concepts, Irresistables, Modern Millie, Precious Memories, Two Girls Shop for adults; Crunchy Granola Baby, Hip Baby Gear and Scupper’s for children—the show will be comprised of fashion forward looks for the Spring and Summer, creating a fun and lively runway experience performed by models from Dancer’s Dream in Marblehead. The show is being directed by Robin Rogers who is no stranger to style. With more than twenty years of retail experience—ranging from sales to buying and Bloomingdales to specialty shops—Robin brings extraordinary talent to this year’s production. Robin has lived on the North Shore for the past seventeen years but just became aware of Lifebridge recently, when a friend recruited her to join the host committee for the fashion show. She says, ““I had average expectations at first. I thought Lifebridge fed and clothed the homeless, which is not a light task, but since I have become involved I’ve learned what extensive work this organization does and I have had the opportunity to learn some of the clients' stories. I'm so impressed with the staff and and their dedication to creating a resolution to homelessness.” The evening will also include a silent and live auction of fabulous (and fashionable) items, coupons and discounts from select participating vendors, as well as other gifts. Director Mark Cote says “This event is an important part of our fundraising efforts for the year. We are incredibly lucky to have such unprecedented community support, and I can assure you that there are many folks on our campus who will directly benefit from the money we raise at the fashion show.” Ticket Info:
